Door 1: Oopbuy agent orders for Taobao, Tmall, 1688 and Weidian

The best-documented of the three doors. Oopbuy captures the listing, a purchasing agent buys it, and a written set of clocks and return rules applies.

What Door 1 covers

Door 1 is for listings Oopbuy can read automatically. The home page search bar carries Taobao, 1688 and Weidian icons; the Beginner's Guide names Taobao, Tmall and 1688 and says Oopbuy "can capture 99% of product information" on them. That 99% is Oopbuy's own claim.

There are two ways in. Method 1: copy a product link from Taobao, Tmall or 1688 (or a link a friend shared) and paste it into the search bar. Method 2: type a product name and pick from the results. Keyword results start on the Oopbuy Selection tab, which is Door 3, so switch to the 1688 or Taobao tab if you want an agent order.

One line in the Beginner's Guide is easy to miss: products bought from 1688 "will comply with different quality control standards". The guide does not say how they differ. If inspection detail matters, ask support before ordering from 1688.

How to order through Door 1, step by step

  1. Paste the link or pick a 1688 or Taobao search result, then choose colour, size and quantity on the captured listing.
  2. Pay the first bill: item price plus the seller's domestic freight to the Xiamen warehouse. Payment can come from your Oopbuy balance, PayPal or a card.
  3. A purchasing agent contacts the seller and buys the item. You can open an "Order Inquiry" to message the agent during this stage.
  4. The seller ships to the warehouse. On arrival the parcel is opened, checked and photographed, and the item appears under Warehouse in your user centre.
  5. Look at the photos within 120 hours if you might want a return.
  6. When you are ready, select items in the warehouse, submit a parcel, choose a route and pay the second bill for international shipping.

If the measured parcel weight later comes in lower than what you paid for, the Beginner's Guide says the difference is refunded to your Oopbuy account after shipping.

The clocks behind a Door 1 order

Oopbuy's Purchasing Instructions page is a service standard, and it is specific. Orders submitted between 09:00 and 18:00 Beijing time are processed within 6 hours; orders submitted overnight are processed before 14:00 the next day. After you confirm or top up a price difference, the agent has 24 hours to place the order. A paid Speedy Response option shortens the first response to 1 hour during the day.

Sellers usually ship within 3-7 days. If nothing has shipped after 3 days, the agent follows up on day 4 and then every 3-4 days, and will suggest cancelling if the seller stays silent. If a seller reports the item out of stock and you do not reply within 72 hours, the agent cancels the order for you.

Cancelling while the order is still "Processing" is handled within 24 hours with a refund of the actual amount. Once it is "Purchased", the agent checks with the seller within 48 hours.

Refunds that depend on the seller take longer: the same page says the agent refunds you within 4-10 days of getting the money back from the seller. The returns page adds that refunds to a bank card generally take 7-15 days after confirmation, depending on the bank.

The 5-day return window and what it excludes

The reviewed public articles gave a specific window for standard agent orders; our dated review did not locate equivalent DIY- or Mall-specific wording. Oopbuy calls it the 5-Day Return/Exchange Guarantee: within 5 days of the item being "Stocked in" (counted from the next full hour, so 120 hours), you can request a return or exchange from your account page.

The guarantee is the seller's, not Oopbuy's. The official wording describes it as an after-sales service offered by sellers on third-party platforms, with Oopbuy only helping to communicate. An item qualifies only if the seller offers guaranteed returns, the item is in resaleable condition, and it has been in the warehouse for no more than 5 days.

Excluded outright: custom-made items, items whose tags or packaging were removed at your request, newspapers and periodicals, second-hand goods, products from outside the Chinese mainland, underwear and socks, adult products, food, orders of 15 or more books, and opened items that fall under the "Special Standards" packaging rules.

For excluded items Oopbuy still offers to negotiate with the seller, but "the final result is subject to the seller's decision". Return freight is yours when the reason is yours: freight back to the seller, plus the seller's original outbound freight if the item shipped free, plus a 5 CNY service fee after your first free user-caused return or exchange of the month.

Who answers for the product

Two sentences on the Purchasing Instructions page define Door 1. First: agent orders are processed by "highly-rated third-party shopping agents" who are trained and supervised by Oopbuy. Second: products shown in the agent service and in search results come from third-party platforms and are not sold by Oopbuy, which takes no liability for them, including intellectual-property claims.

So the chain of responsibility is: the seller for the product, a supervised third-party agent for the buying, Oopbuy for the warehouse and the platform. If you object to how an agent handled an order, the instructions point you to Oopbuy online customer service.

The prohibited-goods page adds context for Taobao, Tmall and 1688: as a purchasing-agent service for Alibaba platforms, Oopbuy says it follows Alibaba's intellectual-property rules.

What Door 1 does not promise

The agent-order rules are detailed, but they have edges. Oopbuy's first-order article opens with them: it provides agent orders for selected platforms and is not responsible for the risks of third-party products, such as quality problems and copyright infringement.

  • No authenticity guarantee. The Shopping Guidelines say the platform offers no guarantee for product authenticity or intellectual-property validity.
  • No sizing or colour promise. Colour difference, size error and usage effect are outside the inspection.
  • No control over seller speed. The 3-7 day shipping figure is what sellers usually do, not a commitment.
  • No transit guarantee. International logistics are run by third-party carriers, and the risk of confiscation, damage, loss or delay sits with you, subject to each route's compensation standard.

Inside those edges, Door 1 is still the door with the most paperwork on your side. That is the main reason to prefer it when the same item is available through more than one door.
